Well my fast new friends decided to step things up a gear this morning with some lessons on chair & ball control..control not being the opperative word with me because once I lose contact with the ball thats it! Lol
............................................................
The lessons were going well for a while until this bright spark tried to teach me some tricks {he's been watching to much Paralympics this guy smile}I tried to emulate his mastery over the chair and succeeded in turning it over, as I lay there fully embarrassed he laughed and made no attempt to help me up...the weird thing was I lay there thinking how Will I get up
............................................................
however things came back to normal and as I stood up the wag shouted "Its a miracle! The lad's on his feet" This crip humour takes some getting used to.smile

...sounds a bit familiar...With Mom's rehab. from a Stroke the training her Aim and objective was not to go to a Basketball Cout for a game rather to become enabled to do all the most basic, to simply be enable to go to her home once again. Had to learn when to put the brakes on ... ... ... and THEN when to take the brakes off AND THEN back on again her wheel-chair before retiring for a few hours. Ahh Yes! Ball control, well, for Mom, NOT a basketball like a REAL basketball of say full or one-half court play, RATHER a NERF BASKETBALL that is say meybe one-fourth the size and is spongy like... Mom learned to re-use her affected side i9n rehab. by gripping onto the NERF basketball and un-gripping it ... .. .. this a process repeated over and over several times a day for weeks on end ... ... When Mom FINALLY! home and out of rehab. a NERF Basketball and Netted hoop , well, the netted hoop placed over a Top a Door in her home and her grandsons would play NERF basketball with Mom, she in her wheel-chair and the fellas standing about their Grandmother and catching her Hooped NERF Balls. GO GO GO Grandma GO!!! *smile* ...CG here
